Last Weekend for Ragnar Kjartansson

This is the last weekend to catch the incredible exhibition Ragnar Kjartansson: Song at Carnegie Museum of Art. I’ve written several pieces about this show aggregated here, including a very personal essay on The End, a piece on Pinetop Perkins, one on Ragnar and Jonathan Richman, and a full-length feature for Carnegie magazine on the Icelandic artist.

The End remains, personally, my current favorite artwork. And with the recent addition of a six-hour video of Ragnar’s nieces performing the new piece Song in the museum, this show has to be, currently, one of the most fascinating and beautiful single-artist exhibitions anywhere. I’ll be back today or tomorrow for a sad farewell viewing – maybe I’ll seeya there.
